Day 1: Arrival - Jammu - Katra: Pick up from Jammu Airport/Railway Station and transfer to Katra (50 Kms/1.5 Hours). Spend rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay at Katra. Highlights: • Welcome to J&K. Your tour begins Dinner Night Stay at Katra.
Day 2: Katra - Vaishno Devi Darshans: Early morning after breakfast, proceed for Mata Vaishno Devi Bhawan- one of the most popular pilgrimages of India situated in the lap of Trikuta mountains across Katra town at an altitude of around 5200 feet. Yatra involves a trek of nearly 12 Kms from base camp at Katra known as Ban Ganga. Alternate way to perform darshans is by Ponies/Palkis/ Helicopter. Day 3: Katra - Patnitop - Local Sightseeing - Sanasar: After breakfast, proceed for Patnitop, a famous Hill Resort (95 Kms/3-4 Hours drive from Katra) which is perched on a beautiful plateau, at an altitude of 2024 metres across which the Jammu – Srinagar Highway passes. Visit the famous Nag Temple, Padora Enclave & Patnitop park. In the afternoon, proceed for Sanasar (20 Kms/1.0 Hour) which is a cup shaped meadow surrounded by gigantic conifers. En route visit Nathatop, another famous tourist point. One can experience the beauty of the Sanasar valley by gliding over its landscapes and meadows and a lake too. A low flying ride here usually includes a larger bit of the flight path over a lake and a landing into the meadows. High flying ride can be experienced at Nathatop upto a duration of 20 minutes. Back to Patnitop in the evening. Overnight stay at Patnitop. Day 2: Katra - Vaishno Devi darshans: Early morning, proceed for Mata Vaishno Devi Bhawan- one of the most popular pilgrimages of India situated in the lap of Trikuta mountains across Katra town at an altitude of around 5200 feet. Yatra upto Bhawan involves a trek of nearly 12 Kms from Katra base camp known as Ban Ganga & 2.5 Kms from Sanji Chhat which is dropping point for pilgrims boarding through Helicopter. You have to hire a local auto rikshaw for reaching Ban Ganga or Helipad available round the clock at very nominal charges. Battery cars, Cable cars, Ponies, Palkis, Pithoos, Porters etc. are other means of transport during yatra for assisting senior citizens, children and physically challenged persons. After performing darshans, if time permits, visit Bhairo Temple & return back to Katra in the evening. Overnight stay at Katra. Day 3: Katra - Shiv Khori - Katra: Early morning after breakfast, proceed for Shiv Khori – the Holy Cave abode of Lord Shiva situated at a distance of 70 Kms from Katra. The cave is a real wonder to be seen and measures nearly half a kilometer in length with a 4 feet high naturally formed Shiv-lingam at the heart of the Sanctum Sanctorum. Have darshans of Lord Shiva and back to Katra in the evening. If time permits, en route, visit Siar Baba waterfalls, Baba Dhansal & Nau Devis. Overnight stay at Katra. Day 3: Katra - Pahalgam: Early morning after breakfast, check out from the hotel & proceed for Pahalgam (222 Kms) which is around 7-8 hours drive from Katra. Pahalgam was once the most popular hill station for the Indian Film Industry. This place is famous for its rich scenic beauty, healthy climate, vast meadows, adventure tourism and its breathtaking views. Enjoy the view of picturesque mountains and the Lidder river while on the way to Pahalgam. On the way, you will pass through Chenani – Nashri Tunnel which is the longest road tunnel in India with a length of 9.28 Kms & is first tunnel in the country with a fully integrated tunnel control system. Day 4: Pahalgam - Extensive Sightseeing (Aru Valley - Betab Valley - Chandanwari) - Srinagar: After breakfast, explore the places around Pahalgam like Betab Valey, Aru Valley and Chandanwari by hiring a local taxi as outside tourist vehicles are not allowed there. Proceed for Srinagar in the evening. En route, visit the famous Martand Temple near Anantnag town. Overnight stay at Srinagar. Day 5: Srinagar - Local Sightseeing: After breakfast, visit the famous Shankryacharya Temple, Mughal Gardens viz; Shalimar Bagh, Nishat Bagh, Chashma Shahi etc. and other famous tourist places like Pari Mahal, Botanical Garden, Nehru Park etc. Enjoy Shikara ride in Dal Lake. Have evening walk through Boulevard Road on the banks of Dal Lake. Overnight stay at Srinagar. Day 6: Srinagar - Sonamarg - Srinagar: After breakfast, proceed for Sonamarg which is situated at a distance of 85 Kms/2-3 Hours) on the Srinagar – Ladakh Road. The road passes through the picturesque town of Ganderbal (21 Kms) & Kangan (40 Kms) before reaching Sonamarg. Situated at an altitude of 2730 m, Sonamarg, which means – Meadow of Gold – has, as its backdrop, snowy mountains against a cerulean sky. The Sindh River that flows through the valley abounds with trout. You may have Pony ride while going to Thajiwas Glacier. Enjoy sledge riding on snowy mountains. Back to Srinagar in the evening. En route, visit the famous Kheer Bhawani Temple at Tulmulla village which is constructed over a sacred spring & is dedicated to Goddess Ragynea Bhagwati. Overnight stay at Srinagar.. Day 7: Srinagar - Gulmarg - Srinagar: After breakfast, proceed for Gulmarg (54 Kms/2 Hours) which is the most famous & scenic hill resort of Kashmir. Free at leisure for rest of the day. You may enjoy horse riding on plush meadows. Have Gondola ride upto the peak heights of Khilanmarg for which tickets are available at J&K State Cable Car Corporation office in Gulmarg. Advance Gondola tickets may also be purchased from Tourist Reception Center (TRC), Srinagar or same may be booked online to avoid standing in long queues at ticket counters in Gulmarg. Back to Srinagar in the evening. Overnight stay at Srinagar.
