Days 6 - Nights 5

 

Day 1: Arrival in Katra – Vaishno Devi Yatra

Arrive in Katra by train or road and check in to your hotel. After a short rest, begin the holy trek to Vaishno Devi Bhawan, a 13 km journey through the scenic Trikuta Hills. Pilgrims can walk or use facilities like pony, palki, battery car, or helicopter service (subject to weather and availability). After the darshan of Mata Vaishno Devi, you may choose to visit Bhairavnath Temple, located 2 km uphill. Return to Katra by late night or early morning depending on your pace. Overnight stay in Katra.

Day 2: Katra to Srinagar (via Udhampur & Banihal Tunnel)

After breakfast, check out and start your journey to Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu & Kashmir, which is around 8–9 hours by road (or take a short flight/train from Jammu if preferred). Enjoy the beautiful drive through green valleys, tunnels, and riverside roads. Upon arrival in Srinagar, check in to your hotel or houseboat and relax by the famous Dal Lake. Overnight stay in Srinagar.

Day 3: Srinagar Local Sightseeing

After breakfast, enjoy a full day of sightseeing in Srinagar. Visit the beautiful Mughal Gardens – Nishat Bagh, Shalimar Bagh, and Chashme Shahi. Stop by the Shankaracharya Temple for panoramic views of the city. Later, enjoy a Shikara ride on Dal Lake, passing through floating gardens and markets. In the evening, explore the local handicrafts market or just relax at the lakefront. Overnight stay in Srinagar.

Day 4: Day Trip to Gulmarg

Today, take a full-day excursion to Gulmarg, known for its meadows and winter skiing. It’s about 50 km (2–3 hours drive) from Srinagar. Visit Gulmarg Gondola, one of the highest cable cars in the world, which takes you up to Apharwat Peak. You can enjoy activities like pony rides, nature walks, or simply admire the stunning landscapes. Return to Srinagar by evening. Overnight stay in Srinagar.

Day 5: Day Trip to Pahalgam

After breakfast, head out for a scenic drive to Pahalgam, also called the "Valley of Shepherds", located about 90 km from Srinagar (approx. 2.5–3 hours). En route, visit Awantipora Ruins and Saffron Fields (in season). In Pahalgam, enjoy the Lidder River, pine forests, and optional pony rides to Aru, Betaab, or Chandanwari valleys. Return to Srinagar in the evening. Overnight stay in Srinagar.

Day 6: Departure from Srinagar

After breakfast, check out from your hotel or houseboat. Transfer to Srinagar Airport for your return flight, carrying with you divine blessings from Vaishno Devi and beautiful memories of Kashmir's valleys and mountains.
